Bot based systems are disrupting the the ways things were done. Each such disruption may replace human working human being.

While searching over internet I came across an interesting advertisement of “Bot-based home cleaning system”. I found it interesting and went to the website of the product.

Company was offering multiple products with different specifications. These products were amazing they have broom, carpet cleaners, even few could work as an vacuum cleaner with facility to auto clean. Video uploaded showed with such an ease the product can be operated. I checked on the financials and found the cost of different Bot’s were between 29,000 to 1, 65,000/-. Company has also offered EMI option without any additional expense.

This lead me to evaluate the cost benefit analysis of acquiring the product and it’s social impact.

Now let’s assume the present situation where a house help is working on a similar task of cleaning. The house help gets paid for cleaning the house somewhere between Rs. 1500/- to Rs.2000/- per month. With annual cost of 18000/- to 24000/- per house these helps run their families. Let’s assume help works in 5 house and gets paid equally than approx Rs. 90,000/- to 1,20,000/- is the amount he or she earns in entire year. This is other than bonus etc. they get in festivals.

From this amount this help runs a number of expenses by paying rent, buying grocery, vegetables, transportation etc. So, a complete business eco system works along with this house helps.

Now, the offering of Bot based house cleaner’s looks competitive to amount being paid to help. Here, removing the help may evaporate the entire business system that exists because of money channelized by them, eco system of local vegetable seller, grocery store, nearby school etc…

In regular condition, if we calculate competitive-cost analysis of Bot and the Help than Bot based system may seem more viable.

So, what’s your take ? Bot based system or a house help.
